Matthew 10:26-27

Prayer Focus for the Day

FAITH BASED ORGANISATIONS

• Pray that FTN can effectively partner with other Faith Based Organizations and thereby strengthen the message of Face The Nation and share resources.
• Pray for the following organizations that FTN is already working with:
• Scripture Union- there is a Scripture Union Club in every school. Some are more active than others. There is a lack of resources for the clubs in the schools. Pray that every school can have an effective Scripture Union Staff Advisor
• Youth for Christ- is working in many schools around the country. We have members of their performing arts team seconded to FTN for 10 weeks to help boost our Rally Teams
• Love Botswana- is an organization that works with The International Bible Society in presenting a Bible based curriculum called Reach for Life. They are mostly active in the Maun area
• True Love Waits- some of our curriculum is based on the True Love Waits. We are looking to partner further with them in the distribution of abstinence pledge cards
• Botswana Christian AIDS Intervention Programme (BOCAIP) Centre in Gaborone. For the past two years they have offered counseling and HIV/AIDS testing

COUNTRY WIDE PRAYER FOCUS FOR THE DAY

Christian students
There are literally thousands of Christian teenagers in this country. Many of them do not own a Bible or have little access to proper godly discipleship. Pray for these Christians. Pray that God would keep them safe from the clutches of Satan and that they would grow in the knowledge and grace of Jesus. Pray that they might learn what it means to live an abundant, fruit bearing life, free from the ravages of their past sin.

COUNTRY WIDE PRAYER FOCUS FOR THE DAY

Breaking with culture
While we all know that our culture plays a large role in defining who we are, there are practices in all cultures that are against the will of God. There is a sense, among teens, that they are victims of their culture- that is how it is and that is how it will always have to be. Pray that teens will start to discern between what is wholesome and healthy in their culture and what is not. Pray that they would be able to break the bonds of these cultural expectations and their resignation to the system. Pray that teens would redefine culture in this country so that it is based on Biblical principles.

Struggle with education Many students expressed an interest in wanting to do better but struggled with their studies. Many felt they needed extra tuition and that accomplishing their dreams was unrealistic because of their home situations and socio-economic factors. Many volunteers held extra tuition classes. Pray for these students that they will persevere and have a spirit of tenacity.

Unforgiveness Counseling teenagers through unforgiveness was extremely common. Unforgiveness is like drinking a bottle of poison and hoping that the other person will die. Pray that Satan would not be able to deceive people into believing that unforgiveness must be owned and fed. Pray that there would be a measure of understanding that forgiveness is not so much for the person who has wronged but for the person who has been wronged.
